Note: Art died quite unexpectedly, although he had been suffering fromemphysema and congestive heart failure for some time. At dinner in a restaurant onFriday evening, he complained of a pain in his jaw and feeling very ill. called the rescue squad, and he was taken to Overlook Hospital in Summitwhere he spent a comfortable night. He died quite suddenly at about 7:30 thenext morning, probably from a blood clot breaking loose. -- The funeralservice was held at Smith and Smith Funeral Home in Springfield, followed by burialin the Scotch Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
